The character that we build is constructed thought by thought, word by word and action by action. The sum of our thoughts, words and actions define who we are.  Our thoughts cannot be read by others so their perception of us is based on what we say and do.   

What we intend or mean is overshadowed by our choice of words and actions.  Our goal should be to select our words and actions thoughtfully and precisely so the character we reveal is in harmony with how we see ourselves.  Careless words and actions can make us sound and appear to be harsh, insensitive, ignorant, mean, hateful, etc.  

We are each painting our own self portrait with our words and actions. We have a great canvas.  Let’s choose our brushes and colors wisely.
